What are Dead Zones and Touch Drops?

Touch drops refer to unexpected signal disconnections while sliding a finger across the panel, while dead zones are specific screen areas that fail to respond to touch. Common in second-hand devices, repaired screens, or poor-quality glass protectors.

Screen Refresh Rate vs. Touch Sampling Rate

Screen Refresh Rate (Hz) measures how many frames the display updates per second, while Touch Sampling Rate (Hz) measures how frequently the touch controller scans for finger input. Higher sampling rates provide smoother tracking and lower input latency.

How to perform an effective screen test?

We recommend launching the 'Grid Paint Test' with a fine mesh density and swiping smoothly across the entire display, followed by the 'Edge Calibration Test' to check extreme bezel boundaries.
